Spaghetti Bolognaise using roo meat

This is another great way to enjoy roo meat, which cooks up into a particularly rich and tasty sauce.

500 grams of minced roo meat
2 onions
2 cloves mashed garlic (or 1 level tablespoon of bottled garlic puree)
1 bottle of tomato pasta sauce
½ cup red wine
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 packet of dried pasta of your choice
1 handful of shredded Parmesan cheese

Heat the olive oil in pan

Dice onions and add to hot pan

Add garlic to pan

Heat and stir onions and garlic until onions start to become transparent

Add the mince to pan and stir until just browned

Add salt & pepper to taste

Add the bottle of tomato pasta sauce and stir in

Rinse the bottle with wine and add that to pan

Stir to combine then reduce heat to low simmer and put lid on pan (stir occasionally)

Heat 5 litres (quarts) of salted water

When boiling, add pasta and cook until soft

Drain pasta through calendar

Serve in bowls, first the pasta, then the sauce, then sprinkle cheese on top.  Enjoy along with a class of red wine – shiraz or cabernet sauvignon.
