Short Crust (savoury) Pastry Recipe
We have tried a lot of different pastry recipes over the years and this is our favorite. This is the pastry we use for our meat pies.
If you were making a dessert pie you would substitute sugar for the parmesan cheese.
½ cup of plain flour
½ cup of self-raising flour
60 grams (=2 oz) butter
1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese
Blend all the flour, butter and cheese in your food processor.
Blend in the egg and enough water to achieve a firm dough.
Place the pastry between two sheets of oven baking paper and roll to fit your pie dish.
Mould pastry into pie dish then refrigerate for 30 minutes before adding filling.
